Dungeon Quest Reborn Tank
The bonus-boss specialist. High Health, low solo XP, mandatory only when the fight forbids healing.
Tank is the Health path. You wear Guardian-tagged armor, you taunt what the tooltip says you can taunt, and you exist so the rest of the party can ignore a mechanic. Sportskeeda tells new players they can dump points into Health to maximize tankiness. Creator tips in 2026 are blunter: do not solo Tank.
If you want to finish Desert Temple before dinner, play Mage or Warrior. Come back to this page when a group asks for a body that can hold a bonus boss.
Stat plan
Health. Not “some Physical because I also want damage.” A half-Physical Tank dies slower than a Warrior and kills slower than a Warrior. That is two losses. The stat planner will tell you to pick one.
Respec Gold is cheaper than a week of confused clears. Farm it properly — gold farming — then commit.
Gear
Guardian / tank armor sets. Weapons can be awkward: some Tanks hold a Mage weapon so taunt or support spells scale, some hold a physical stick for chip damage. Reborn tooltips decide. If the taunt scales with Spell, wear a staff. If it does not, wear whatever keeps you alive.
Do not chase Eden’s Vengeance as a Tank main. That sword wants Physical. See the weapons tier list and stay in your lane.
Abilities
- Taunt / aura that forces trash onto you. Bosses often ignore taunts — franchise rule, verify in Reborn.
- Barrier or damage cut.
- One emergency heal if the Healer is asleep.
- Optional chip AoE so Easy packs do not last forever.
Ability tier list still applies. Holy Barrier-style tools are the identity. Whirlwind is not.
When Tank is required
- Bonus bosses that disable healing or pulse the party unless someone holds aggro.
- Groups that keep face-pulling extra packs.
- Hardcore runs where a stray add would one-shot the Mage.
When Tank is a waste:
- Solo leveling. Your XP per hour will lose to any DPS.
- Easy and Medium Desert Temple.
- Parties that already speed-kill before a taunt matters.
AbductedByRobloxians’ tip seven is the short version: do not use Tank for solo.
How to play without throwing
Stand in front. Face the pack. Let DPS stand behind the safe edge. If you run around like a Warrior, the taunt is decoration. Learn controls so jump and taunt are not the same panic mash.
Call pulls. A Tank who silent-sprints into room four on Hardcore is griefing. Use Discord voice or even just lobby chat.
Progression
Level as Mage or Warrior, then respec for the content that needs a Tank. That is faster than Tanking from level 1. How to level up is written for clear speed, not for face-tanking peasants for five minutes.
Dailies still work. Claim daily rewards on a floor you completed in the DPS spec, then swap. No Tank codes exist.
Honest summary
Tank is a tool. It is a good tool on a small number of fights. It is a bad personality. Keep a Health template in your notes, keep Gold for the swap, and spend the rest of the week as a class that kills the timer. When a group pings “need Tank,” you will be ready. Until then, stay on the class hub and play a scaler that clears guides.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Dungeon Quest Reborn questions.
What stat does Tank use?
Health. Mixing Physical Power turns you into a worse Warrior.
Do bosses taunt?
Many dungeon bosses ignore taunts in this franchise. Use Tank for adds and bonus rules; verify each fight.
Is Tank required for Hardcore?
Not always. Hardcore needs a finish, not a Health stack. Bring Tank when the fight actually asks for it.
